Subvención de infraestructura climática de la ciudad de Chicago otorgada a Saint Anthony
Chicago, Illinois (NED).— El Hospital Saint Anthony, uno de los hospitales con mayor antigüedad en funcionamiento de Chicago, recibió la Subvención de Infraestructura Climática de la Ciudad de Chicago, que permitirá cuatro nuevos vehículos eléctricos y estaciones de carga para el servicio de transporte del hospital.
Con el aumento de los costos de los automóviles, la gasolina y los programas de viajes compartidos, Saint Anthony Hospital ofrece un servicio gratuito de recogida y entrega a sus pacientes. Ubicado en 2875 W. 19th Street en La Villita, el Hospital Saint Anthony ha brindado atención a comunidades desatendidas durante más de un siglo y hace que la atención médica esté disponible para todos. Ahora, con esta subvención, el Hospital Saint Anthony podrá invertir en nuevos vehículos eléctricos para brindar una experiencia de transporte ecológica a sus pacientes.
“Esta subvención nos da la capacidad de comprar nuevos vehículos eléctricos que el Hospital Saint Anthony necesitaba absolutamente”, dijo el vicepresidente adjunto Michael Sellers. “Es posible que las personas en el área no puedan pagar o tener acceso para llegar a sus citas, pero consideramos que es nuestra responsabilidad tener servicios de transporte para la comunidad y hacerlo de una manera ambientalmente consciente”.
Saint Anthony Hospital brinda cientos de viajes por mes y presta servicios regularmente a comunidades como La Villita, North Lawndale, Brighton Park, Garfield Park, Back of the Yards, McKinley Park, Archer Heights, Pilsen, Austin y Chinatown. Certificado en transporte pediátrico, el equipo de transporte de Saint Anthony Hospital está disponible para niños, personas mayores y cualquier persona y cualquier lugar que necesite un viaje hacia o desde el hospital o cualquiera de sus seis clínicas comunitarias en la ciudad.

Saint Anthony Hospital is Going Green with New Electric Car Transportation Service
City of Chicago Climate Infrastructure Grant Awarded to Saint Anthony
Chicago, Illinois (NED).— Saint Anthony Hospital, one of Chicago’s longest operating hospitals, has been awarded the City of Chicago Climate Infrastructure Grant, which will allow for four new electric vehicles and charging stations for the hospital’s transportation service.
With rising costs in automobiles, gas, and rideshare programs, Saint Anthony Hospital offers a free pick-up and drop-off service to its patients. Located at 2875 W. 19th Street in Little Village, Saint Anthony Hospital has been providing care for underserved communities for more than a century and makes healthcare available to all. Now with this grant, Saint Anthony Hospital will be able to invest in new electric vehicles to provide an environmentally friendly transportation experience for its patients.
“This grant gives us the ability to purchase new electric vehicles that Saint Anthony Hospital absolutely needed,” said Assistant Vice President Michael Sellers. “People in the area might not be able to afford or have access to get to their appointments, but we look at it as our responsibility to have transportation services for the community and doing it in an environmentally conscious way.”
Saint Anthony Hospital provides hundreds of rides per month and regularly services communities such as Little Village, North Lawndale, Brighton Park, Garfield Park, Back of the Yards, McKinley Park, Archer Heights, Pilsen, Austin, and Chinatown. Pediatric Transportation Certified, Saint Anthony Hospital’s transportation team is available for children, seniors, and anyone and anywhere that needs a ride to or home from the hospital or any of its six community clinics around the city.
This service will be one of many future energy efficient efforts made by Saint Anthony Hospital as it transitions to the new Focal Point Community Campus, scheduled to open in 2026 at 31st and Kedzie. Anchored by the new hospital, Focal Point will be a multi-use sustainable campus designed to provide access and opportunity for wellness, education, workforce development, living space and more.
Chicago’s Climate Infrastructure grants are given to help achieve the City’s Climate Action Plan goal of reducing greenhouse emissions by 62% by 2040.
