Cicero, Illinois (NED).– Cicero se llenó de música, comida, juegos y diversión comunitaria el pasado fin de semana con la celebración del Festival Houby. El momento culminante fue el Desfile Internacional del Día de Houby el domingo, con más de 100 participantes, coloridos carros alegóricos, decoraciones con temática de hongos y mucho orgullo comunitario.
El Presidente del Municipio, Larry Dominick, y la Primera Dama Diana Dominick encabezaron el desfile, junto a funcionarios del municipio, celebrando la herencia checa y eslovaca de Cicero y la tradición del houby — ¡hongos!
Cicero sigue honrando sus raíces mientras abraza la diversidad vibrante del municipio, haciendo del Festival Houby una querida tradición de otoño.
Cicero Celebrates the 57th Annual International Houby Festival
Cicero, Illinois (NED).– Cicero, Illinois Cicero was filled with music, food, games, and community fun last weekend with the Houby Festival. The highlight was the International Houby Day Parade on Sunday, featuring more than 100 participants with colorful floats, mushroom-themed decorations, and lots of community pride.
Town President Larry Dominick and First Lady Diana Dominick led the parade, joined by town officials, celebrating Cicero’s Czech and Slovak heritage and the tradition of houby—mushrooms!
Cicero continues to honor its roots while embracing the town’s vibrant diversity, making Houby Fest a beloved fall tradition.
