Springfield, Illinois (NED).– El Departamento de Agricultura de Illinois (IDOA) ha proporcionado peticiones de revocación de licencia a tres empresas alegando que estaban operando como tiendas de mascotas en Illinois sin licencias de operadores de tiendas de mascotas según lo exige la Ley de Bienestar Animal (225 ILCS 605/3) . De acuerdo con las peticiones, se alega que las empresas están “participando en negocios como operadores de tiendas de mascotas sin una licencia para ello”, según lo exige la Sección 3 de la Ley.
Los tres negocios operan como “Bebés peludos” con ubicaciones en Rockford, Aurora y Lombard, y actualmente tienen licencia como distribuidores de perros. Según la ley de Illinois, solo los operadores de tiendas de mascotas pueden vender u ofrecer vender perros al público al por menor, y todos los perros vendidos al por menor deben obtenerse de un centro de control de animales o un refugio de animales. Se ha descubierto que estos comerciantes de perros autorizados están ofreciendo a la venta y/o vendiendo perros al público al por menor.
Las empresas fueron notificadas de los requisitos y restricciones de licencia aplicables cuando se emitieron sus licencias de comerciante de perros. Pet stores could have problems for working without a license
Others will have their license revoked for violating the law
Springfield, Illinois (NED).– The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) has provided petitions of license revocation to three businesses alleging that they were operating as pet shops in Illinois without pet shop operators licenses as required by the Animal Welfare Act (225 ILCS 605/3). According to the petitions, the businesses are alleged to be “engaging in business as a pet shop operator[s] without a license therefor,” as required by Section 3 of the Act.
The three businesses are operating as “Furry Babies” with locations in Rockford, Aurora, and Lombard, and are currently licensed as Dog Dealers. Under Illinois law, only pet shop operators are permitted to sell and/or offer to sell dogs at retail to the public, and all dogs sold at retail must be obtained from an animal control facility or animal shelter. These licensed dog dealers have been found to be offering for sale and/or selling dogs at retail to the public.
The businesses were notified of the applicable licensing requirements and restrictions when their dog dealer licenses were issued. This is a result of routine investigations the department conducts to ensure compliance with laws that keep animals safe.
