Expanded day Head Start classrooms take over former Hawthorne Park District building.
[Cicero, November 16, 2020]. The Children’s Center of Cicero Berwyn will be celebrating the opening of its ninth center with a Grand Opening ribbon cutting on Monday, November 30th. Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions, the public is invited to celebrate the occasion via Facebook Live. Virtual tours of the new classrooms and program information will be shared. The event will start at 10 AM. Executive director Bina Habibi shared a quote from Coretta Scott King to mark the occasion “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” We hope you will join us!
The Children’s Center programs provide a nurturing, developmentally appropriate atmosphere for children and supports parents and caregivers in their critical role as their child’s first teacher. We respect the child as a unique and special individual. We support families to help their children enjoy life and learn to accept themselves as well as others. The Children’s Center of Cicero-Berwyn provides educational childcare, Head Start, Preschool for All classrooms and home-based, child development and parenting programs. The Children’s Center has been a part of the Cicero and Berwyn community since 1978 and now operates 13 programs in nine sites. We are a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit registered charitable organization chartered in the State of Illinois. All childcare programs are licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and are NAEYC Accredited. All of our sites are Star Level 3 on the QRS (Quality Rating Scale).
