Mexican Mural to be Unveiled on May 5— 1 p.m.

Join Congressman Jesus “Chuy” Garcia and renowned Mexican-American muralist Robert Valadez, Friday, May 5, for the unveiling of Valadez’s latest work: “Mexico del Norte” at 605 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL, at 1 p.m.

The 33-foot x 12-foot mural represents the story of Mexican immigration to Chicago, drawing on the architecture of the Aztecs, the Mexica indigenous people, and Chicago architects like Louis Sullivan.

The unveiling will last from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with remarks from Congressman Garcia, Valadez, and Mexican Ambassador Reyna Torres Mendivil. General media availability will be provided.
