Chicago, Illinois (NED).– La carrera por la Alcaldía de Chicago a acaparado grandes titulares, comentarios en favor y en contra de los candidatos, particularmente de tres candidatos fuertes encabezado por la alcaldesa Lori Lightfoot, quien busca ser reelecta; seguido por los candidatos el congresista Jesús “Chuy” García y Paul Vallas.
La contienda electoral está reñida y sólo es decisión de cada elector votar por su candidato preferido.
Sin embargo se debe hacer hincapié en la tremenda crisis que estamos pasando en la ciudad de Chicago, los crímenes, robos, pandillas son las quejas diarias en las comunidades negras e hispanas particularmente. La falta de seguridad por falta o ineficiencia de los agentes policiacos es otro de los graves problemas. La educación escolar no se queda atrás, existen problemas profundos entre maestros, sindicatos educativos y apoyo legislativo así como material necesario para los planteles educativos. Ahora se está lidiando con otros problemas “falta de personal educativo bilingüe”. A esto se puede agregar todo tipo discriminación -etnia, raza, comunidad, escuela, empleo, policial, dirigentes y gobiernos junto con sus representantes. En fin, Chicago “SI” necesita un cambio.
Cambio que solo lo puede dar una persona comprometida con los habitantes de una gran ciudad como lo es Chicago.
Es por eso qué los votantes deben tomar muy seriamente su participación electoral. Por qué no todo es culpa de los políticos, también es culpa de los ciudadanos los problemas por los que estamos pasando en esta ciudad.
Los habitantes ciudadanos o no tienen un fuerte compromiso para hacer que se cumplan las leyes. Comenzando en su propio hogar, comprometiéndose a tener reglas dentro de su familia. Reglas que involucren a cada ser que viva con en su casa o bien como representante de una familia. Las reglas establecidas en una familia logran una mejor convivencia, enfoque de comunicación, aprendizaje verbal, educativo y de convivencia. Si no se inicia en casa en la calle solo se encuentra malos hábitos, mala información y gente dañina. Los padres son una fuente FUNDAMENTAL para todo.
Así que para poder lograr que nos escuchen o para exigir cambios, empecemos desde el fondo. Algunos pensarán, es tarde. No, no es así, por lo menos para una gran mayoría, no lo es.
Como fundadores de esta publicación y de origen mexicano, creemos que llegó el momento de apoyar a uno de los nuestros, especialmente por que conocemos su lucha desde hace más de 45 años. Hace más de 45 años iniciamos una lucha por distintos senderos (política/información) pero dirigidos a un mismo punto lograr que nuestra comunidad Hispana sea representada con dignidad y conozca sus derechos. La gran mayoría de nosotros mexicanos, puertorriqueños, cubanos, centro y sudamericanos y otros grupos de habla castellana, vinimos a esta nación con un solo propósito mejor nuestro estilo de vida trabajando duro. Uno de los nuestros es el congresista Jesús “Chuy” García, quien en cada posición que a ocupado como legislador ha puesto todo su entusiasmo para representarnos dignamente y luchado por nuestros derechos, es por eso que los fundadores de esta publicación, Jorge Montes de Oca y Ana María Ugalde-Montes de Oca dan su apoyo e invitan a todos los votantes a que elijan a Jesús “Chuy” García como Alcalde de Chicago, estamos seguros que con él nuestra ciudad tendrá mejores beneficios y una mejor dirección y comunicación con todos los departamentos representativos, incluyendo el departamento de policía. Time to VOTE for Mayor of Chicago
Chicago, Illinois (NED).– The race for Mayor of Chicago has made headlines, with comments for and against the candidates, particularly three strong candidates led by Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who is seeking re-election, followed by Congressman Jesus “Chuy” Garcia and Paul Vallas.
The race is close and it is up to each voter to vote for his or her preferred candidate.
However, we must emphasize the tremendous crisis that we are going through in the city of Chicago, crimes, robberies, gangs are the daily complaints in the Black and Hispanic communities particularly. The lack of security due to the lack or inefficiency of police officers is another serious problem. School education is not far behind, there are deep problems among teachers, educational unions and legislative support as well as necessary material for schools. Now we are dealing with other problems “lack of bilingual educational personnel”. To this can be added all kinds of discrimination – ethnicity, race, community, school, employment, police, leaders and governments along with their representatives. In short, Chicago “DOES” need a change.
Change that can only come from a person committed to the people of a great city like Chicago.
That is why voters should take their electoral participation very seriously. Because it is not all politicians’ fault, it is also the citizens’ fault for the problems we are going through in this city.
The citizen or not inhabitants have a strong commitment to enforce the laws. Starting in their own home, committing to have rules within their family. Rules that involve every being they live with in their home or as a representative of a family. The rules established in a family achieve a better coexistence, communication approach, verbal, educational and coexistence learning. If it does not start at home, in the street you will only find bad habits, bad information and harmful people. Parents are a FUNDAMENTAL source for everything.
So in order to get them to listen to us or to demand changes, let’s start from the bottom. Some will think, it’s too late. No, it’s not, at least for a large majority, it’s not.
As founders of this publication and of Mexican origin, we believe that the time has come to support one of our own, especially because we have known their struggle for more than 45 years. More than 45 years ago we started a struggle through different paths (politics/information) but directed to the same point: to achieve that our Hispanic community be represented with dignity and know their rights. The great majority of us Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Central and South Americans and other Spanish speaking groups, came to this nation with a single purpose to improve our lifestyle by working hard. One of our own is Congressman Jesus “Chuy” Garcia, who in every position he has held as a legislator has put all his enthusiasm to represent us with dignity and fought for our rights, that is why the founders of this publication, Jorge Montes de Oca and Ana Maria Ugalde-Montes de Oca give their endorsement and invite all voters to elect Jesus “Chuy” Garcia as Mayor of Chicago, we are sure that with him our city will have better benefits and better direction and communication with all representative departments, including the police department. Come out to vote on February 28, 2023.
