Chicago Department of Public Health Hosts Final Concert of Protect Chicago Music Series, ¡Súbelo! Featuring Kinky and MOLOTOV

Chicago – The Chicago Department of Public Health partnered with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, the Chicago Park District and Pilsen Fest to host the final concert of the Protect Chicago Music Series over the weekend for fully-vaccinated Chicagoans. ¡Súbelo! featured performances by more than 10 Latinx performers, including world-renowned music artists Kinky and MOLOTOV.

More than three thousand Chicagoans attended the event on Saturday, September 4th to enjoy live music, food from 10+ local restaurants, handmade goods from 35+ artisan vendors, and art from local artists who created original works promoting COVID-19 vaccination as part of the VAX-CHI-NATION campaign. VAX-CHI-NATION is a movement fueled by your love for the city, love for your family, and love for each other – a movement powered by Chicago.

The Protect Chicago Music Series was designed exclusively for fully COVID-19 vaccinated Chicagoans to include a variety of musical events taking place across Chicago as an incentive and benefit for Chicagoans who receive a COVID-19 vaccine to protect their families, communities, and themselves.

With the City of Chicago once again seeing a rise in COVID-19 cases, it is more important than ever to get vaccinated to protect yourself, your family, and your community. Vaccines have been essential in the fight against COVID-19 and its variants – and while the city is beginning to see more “breakthrough” cases because of the delta variant (vaccinated individuals contracting COVID-19), they are very rare, and vaccination helps protect individuals from serious illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19.
