Chicago – On Saturday, August 21st and Monday, August 23rd the Chicago Department of Public Health administered dozens of COVID-19 vaccinations to Chicagoans at the Bricktown Square Shopping Center on the City’s West Side by means of a mobile vaccination bus.
Chicagoans that received their COVID-19 vaccines were offered free tickets to Six Flags. The Chicago Department of Public Health will continue to bring the mobile vaccination bus to vaccination events at the Bricktown Square Shopping Center on August 28th (9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.), August 30th (9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) and every Saturday in September from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
CDPH is committed to reaching individuals most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic by partnering with trusted organizations to administer vaccines at community events across the city. With the City of Chicago once again seeing a rise in COVID-19 cases, it is more important than ever to get vaccinated to protect yourself, your family, and your community. Vaccines have been essential in the fight against COVID-19 and its variants – and while the city is beginning to see more “breakthrough” cases because of the delta variant (vaccinated individuals contracting COVID-19), they are very rare, and vaccination helps protect individuals from serious illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19.
