Aclaración de la presidenta de la Junta Electoral de Chicago/Clarification from the president of the Chicago Board of Elections

Con respecto a la alerta de AG Raoul sobre las llamadas automáticas a los votantes, Marisel Hernández, presidenta de la Junta Electoral de Chicago aclara lo siguiente:

“Las autoridades electorales han estado usando Voto Por Correo por décadas.  No existe veracidad a la alegación de que el programa colecciona o abusa de información personal de votantes.  La Junta de Elección nunca ha usado ni usará cualquiera información acerca de un votante para nada, excepto  verificar la identidad del votante para propósitos de elección”.

Concerning AG Raoul’s alert about robocalls to voters, below is a statement issued by Marisel Hernandez, Chair of the Chicago Board of Elecctions:

“Illinois election authorities have been using Vote By Mail for decades. There is no truth to the allegation that the program collects or abuses voters’ personal information.  The Board of Elections has never used nor will it use any information regarding a voter for anything except to verify the voter’s identity for election purposes.”
