Gran espectáculo cultural/musical
Chicago, Illinois (NED).– El sábado 10 de junio de 2022 a las 2:00 p. m. en la esquina de Division y Campbell comenzará el 45º Desfile del Día del Pueblo Puertorriqueño seguido de la increíble extravagancia cultural y musical que se llevará a cabo este fin de semana en la comunidad de Humboldt Park por La Fiesta
Patronales/Festival Puertorriqueño.
El desfile de este año celebrará el 50 Aniversario del Centro Cultural Puertorriqueño 1973-2023.
Con invitados de honor está Juan González, reconocido periodista y miembro fundador de N.Y.C. jóvenes señores; Carmen Martínez, propietaria de la tienda de discos de Lily durante 40 años; y Jessie Fuentes, concejal del distrito 26.
Nuestro desfile es más que una simple celebración de nuestro rico patrimonio cultural, también brinda un espacio para abordar otros problemas sociales como la visibilidad de nuestras personas trans, la vitalidad de nuestra comunidad LGBTQ+, la dinámica de nuestra juventud, la sabiduría de nuestros mayores. , y los desafíos de la gentrificación y otras formas de violencia colonial. Con cerca de 100 grupos que incluyen carrozas, grupos de marcha, bandas locales, clubes de autos, asociaciones de motociclistas y grupos de ciclistas. El Desfile es copatrocinado anualmente por el Centro Cultural Puertorriqueño y el Concejal Jessie Fuentes del Distrito 26.
La Fiesta Patronales/Puerto Rican Fest contará con algunos de los mejores talentos y géneros musicales puertorriqueños, desde Bomba y Plena hasta salsa. El Festival comenzó desde el jueves 8 de junio y termina el domingo 11 de junio. El Desfile del Día del Pueblo Puertorriqueño comenzará a las 2pm en Division y Western Avenue; continuando hacia el oeste por Division Street a través del corazón de la comunidad comercial y cultural de Puerto Rico, en Humboldt Park, culminando en Sacramento y Division.

45th Puerto Rican People’s Day Parade and Fiesta Patronales in Humboldt Park to Initiate
Cultural/Musical Extravaganza
Chicago, Illinois (NED).– On Saturday June 10, 2022 at 2pm on the corner of Division and Campbell the 45th Puerto Rican People’s Day Parade will begin followed by the amazing cultural and musical extravaganza to be held this weekend in the Humboldt Park community by The Fiesta
Patronales/Puerto Rican Fest.
This year’s parade will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Puerto Rican Cultural Center 1973-2023.
Featuring honored guests; Juan Gonzalez, renowned journalist & founding member of N.Y.C. Young Lords; Carmen Martinez, Lily’s Record Shop owner of 40 years; and Jessie Fuentes, 26th ward Alderperson.
Our parade is more than just a celebration of our rich cultural heritage, it also provides a space to address other social issues like the visibility of our trans people, the vibrancy of our LGBTQ+ community, the dynamics of our youth, the wisdom of our elders, and the challenges of gentrification and other forms of colonial violence. With nearly 100 groups including floats, marching groups, local bands, car clubs, motorcycle associations, and bicycle groups. The Parade is annually co-sponsored by the Puerto Rican Cultural Center and Alderperson Jessie Fuentes of the 26th Ward.
The Fiesta Patronales/Puerto Rican Fest will feature some of the best Puerto Rican musical talent and genres from Bomba and Plena, to salsa. The Festival started from Thursday June 8th and ends on Sunday June 11th. The Puerto Rican People’s Day Parade will step off at 2pm on Division and Western Avenue; proceeding west on Division Street through the heart of the Puerto Rican commercial and cultural community- in Humboldt Park- culminating on Sacramento and Division.
